Un mondo migliore - A better World

Welcome, I hope gladly that together, with our strengths and with the faith we can give sense to a dialogue that doesn't know the separatività but it unites in the differences the precious source that finds us near and able a best world.

A good job
Daniela

A truly religious man should think that other religions also have many paths leading to the truth.
One should always maintain an attitude of respect towards other religions. Dispute not, as you rest firmly on your own faith and opinion, allow others also equal liberty to stand by their own faith and opinion.

quote from the Dalai lama...
My message is the practice of compassion, love and kindness. Compassion can be put into practice if one recognizes the fact that every human being is a member of humanity and the human family regardless of differences in religion, culture, color and creed. Deep down there is no difference.
-- Dalai Lama

The heart should melt. Love should permeate every cell of your being when you serve the destitutes.

It is when this love is enthroned in your heart that you will endeavour to seek your own self or God in every atom of creation. It is then that you will greet the Lord clad in rags who stands at your door with a begging bowl. It is then that you will rush to the Lord ailing with diseases, lying helpless on the roadside. It is then that you will feed, clothe, educate and cheer up the Lord apparently steeped in poverty, homeless and hapless. This is my message to you all today; may the lowliest of the low, the poorest of the poor, be thy God!

Sri Aurobindo:

"The Self is and cannot cease to be, though it may change the forms through which it appears. This opposition of 'is' and 'is not', this balance of Being and becoming which is the mind's view of existence, finds its end in the realization of the Atman as the one imperishable Self by whom all this universe has been extended

Chapter 2, Verse 16

"That which is non-existent can never come into being,
And that which is can never cease to be.
Those who know the nature of the Self
Also know the nature of 'is' and 'is not'."

Srila Prabhupada:

"That the body is changing every moment by the actions and reactions of the different cells is admitted by modern medical science; and thus growth and old age are taking place in the body. But the spirit soul exists permanently, remaining the same despite all changes of the body and the mind. That is the difference between matter and spirit. By nature, the body is ever-changing, and the soul is eternal. This conclusion is established by all seers of truth, both impersonalist and personalist.

Removal of ignorance involves the re-establishment of the eternal relationship between worshiper and worshiped and the consequent understanding of the difference between the part-and-parcel living entities and the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One can understand the nature of the Supreme by thorough study of oneself, the difference between oneself and the Supreme Being, and by contemplating the relationship between the part and the whole.

In the Vedanta Sutras as well as in the Srimad Bhagavatam, the Supreme has been accepted as the origin of all emanations. The living entities, therefore, are always subordinate to the Supreme Lord, as in the case of master and servant, or the teacher and the taught. Such clear knowledge is impossible to understand under the spell of ignorance, and to drive away such ignorance the Lord teaches the Bhagavad-Gita for the enlightenment of all living entities for all time."

“Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same. “

~Francesca Reigler

Your mental attitude will lead you into the light or hold you in
darkness. It will lead you to hope or despair, to a glorious
success or a miserable failure, and it is entirely within your own
power to choose which it shall be."

God's plan for man's evolution is work. Love of God and service of man is the secret of true life. The meaning of true life is service and sacrifice. Life is meant for service, and not for self-seeking. Sacrifice! Do your duties well, sincerely. Your privileges will follow unasked. Hold your life for the service of others. The more the energy you spend in elevating and serving others, the more the divine energy which will flow to you. Serve. Serve humanity with divine Bhava. By doing service, you purify your heart. Egoism, hatred, jealousy, idea of superiority vanish. Humility, pure love, sympathy, tolerance and mercy are developed. Sense of separateness is annihilated!

What do you think about?

Many people feel that killing convicted murderers will satisfy their need for justice and/or vengeance. They feel that certain crimes are so heinous that executing the criminal is the only reasonable response.
I think that permitting premeditated murder is totally unacceptable, even if committed by the state.
Capital punishment lowers the value of human life as seen by the general population and brutalizes society. It is based on a need for revenge.
